Head of Business Development

MoEngage Inc. is a technology company based out of Bangalore and San Francisco. We are focused on solving the problem of retention and engagement in mobile apps and websites. We built a User Analytics and Engagement platform to help app companies understand user behaviour in real time and deliver personalised interactions (big data personalisation at scale). We work with most of the top consumer‐internet companies in India across E‐commerce, Travel, Food, etc. We are a fast‐growing team of young people, who worked earlier at mobile and startup companies.

We have seen a considerable growth since the inception of the company, to give a sense of scale we deal with, imagine receiving 5 billion interactions in a month from major e-commerce, travel and food companies together on a global scale. Maintaining the infrastructure on such a scale is a huge challenge. We face  interesting and exciting challenges on a daily basis, ingesting high rate of data from users (more than 2.5k per second) means things like scalability, availability and efficiency are hugely important.

The Head of Business Development will be fully responsible for both winning new business for MoEngage and the stability of existing business, in Indonesia which is one of the leading markets for us globally.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, driven and highly motivated individual who understands our product as well as they do the Indonesian market. They will be responsible for the overall sales targets, retention of customers, managing the sales team in Indonesia, target setting and achievement.

This role will require you to lead by example, exceeding your individual sales targets and insipring the team to follow.

Skills and Requirements

    • A proven hunter who consistently exceeds sales targets;
    • A passion for technology and all things digital;
    • 6+ years Sales experience in a Marketing Technology, SaaS, Digital Marketing or Adtech;
    • An entrepreneurial spirit with a deep understanding of a consultative sales approach;
    • The ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with customers, especially at the executive level;
    • Based in and good understanding of the Indonesian market;
    • Native level English and Bahasa;
    • Strong strategy, sales and operations background (good to have);
    • Experience working in and preferably managing cross functional teams (good to have)

Responsibilities

    • Handling overall responsibility of managing new business development, hitting and exceeding sales targets and retaining existing customers;
    • Keep up to date and establish deep knowledge of MoEngage’s solutions and product;
    • Conduct local competitive research and keep MoEngage always ahead of the curve;
    • Manage the Indonesia sales team, establish targets and monitor performance - at the same time hitting and exceeding individual sales targets;
    • Develop and maintain C-level relationships with all key accounts and key prospects;
